MahaMandi Video version

The real MahaMandi 2015 Experience as compiled above depicts true pictures that we took with our customers (Feels great to call someone as our customer). To take money out from one's pocket is one of the most challenging thing and having achieved it, gives immense satisfaction.

Above is reflection of Mahamandi in Marathi..

We had excitement on the day of Mahamandi, we were skeptical about our success in selling. But we did it. We overcame the fear of selling, we helped participants from other colleges in selling, we helped customers to choose the right products, we learnt.

Socho Becho Sikho!!

It's really a great opportunity that we got due to Dr. Prasad and the whole concept originated by him. Me and my team really thank him for all the learning!!
It is indeed a memorable experience with infinite learning.

MahaMandi Experience & Learnings

The big event MahaMandi.. The long waiting one.. With presence of celebrities!! And participation of various colleges across Mumbai. A lifetime experience.

The day started with ‘Not at all’ from a lady when we asked her if we can have two minutes to talk with her. And we thought that day would be full of challenges. Mind was full of thoughts like, whether we would be able to sell all the products?? Whether people will respond to us??

It was Juhu chowpaty, one of the famous weekend destinations of Mumbai people.

And the first smile that came to our faces when we sold two products to the lady enjoying with her family on beach. That was a wonderful feeling, the feeling that gave us confidence that ‘Yes! We can do this!’

The very good thing that we observed was that most of the people had the time to listen to us, may be the brand Nitie has that power, may be the way we interacted with  them had some decency, may be they found it worth to think about their child’s future, may be they were curious to see attractive products from Navnirmiti, the reasons were innumerable. But yes we were able to grab the attention of people who were present at Juhu Beach to enjoy their weekend. And that gives a big smile on our face.

Some memorable moments of the day!!

We came across with people who bought the products immediately after we told them what the product is, fortunately that was our first customer. There were people to whom we had to show whole demo and then they were convinced to buy product. We met one Ambulance caretaker, we saw a feeling in his eyes that his son should learn through better means that he couldn’t, that was the foremost thing that any father would want their child to do. We were proud to have one of our customer as few members of NDRF(National Defense Response Force) which were simultaneously doing job of being alert for any natural disaster that may happen on beach.

There were few people who approached us with curiosity and they ended up buying more than one product. Few people didn’t find it fruitful to say no to such noble cause in spite of not being so interested about our product.

There was a professor who was already working for an NGO and wanted our suggestion about the most appropriate product which would be more beneficial for his grandson.

The biggest achievement for us is the confidence, that we can convince people the importance of things. And also entrepreneurship skills about pitching unknown people with new products.

One of the important learning about selling was cheaper products could be sold easily when they are presented to customers after costlier products.
For e.g. We presented Rs. 250 product to customer which they refused to buy due to higher cost for them and then we were ready with a cheaper product of Rs 50 which they could not refused to buy as the new price was reduced by 80% to previous price. And we can avoid selling cheaper products in the beginning so that they can be later sold easily.

Right product for right customer:

Presenting right product for right customer came out as one of the significant learning! We had few products like Rangometry and Tangram which were more suitable for children of nursery going age and there was a product ‘Number balance’ which suitable for 1st-2nd standard students. We were right most of the times in identifying a customer according to our product.

The most exiting moment of the day : The moment when first customer said that YES I want to buy this product.

Overall feeling

Overall it was a great experience, great learning and lifetime memory. I am proud to be NITIean and blessed to have Dr. Mandi as our faculty.

Classroom Experiences

This is one of those classes where we actually explored the products that we are going to sell.
This experience actually helped us while selling products on the day of MahaMandi.

Here the man is being portrayed trying to showcase his happiness in an elevated mood.
The image besides to it shows Normal Probability distribution curve.
The diversity of use of this products explains how creatively it can be used and how easy it is to sell this product just by focusing on creativity.
This is easy to use, good to explore one's creativity, and long lasting and difficult to find in market.

Various puzzles can be created by using small pieces of Tangram. The games that we play on mobiles are now in reality. Isn't that interesting?? :)
Explaining bar graphs is no more an intimidating task for teachers by use of this product.

One's creativity can lead to different animals and birds being created through this product as we created a fish and a duck in this image.
This is really a food for thought product.

MahaMandi 2015 : Getting prepared for the D-Day

The preparations for MahaMandi were with full enthusiasm for this Audio video session. It is always a different experience to face the camera and perform. Guidance from Dr. Mandi provided this opportunity to us in learning Business communication in a unique way.
We learnt to work in a team during this, we learnt how to present our ideas in a team, we learnt to present ourselves in front of camera and many more.
Here we present a concept of MahaMandi by showing the conversations at various places with different languages. We presented what is MahaMandi is and how the fever of MahaMandi is imbibed in diverse cultures.

Maha Mandi 2015 @ NITIE

Fun of learning is in selling!!

Socho Becho Sikho..!

Finally this is the time, NITIE students have got lifetime opportunity to be a part of Maha Mandi which is a flagship event of NITIE.
Oh!! What is Maha Mandi ???

We, NITIE students will go on streets of Mumbai and we will sell the toys to Mumbai people. These toys are made by an NGO group.

The Tagline!!
Socho Becho Sikho!!

We will think how to sell, which we will apply while selling and eventually we will learn. This is what NITIE is teaching us, this is actually a practical learning experience and that is what all about pursuing master’s degree in Management which should be learnt practically like this.

What is there for Mumbai??
Mumbai, we have lots of innovative toys for your children. But what’s so innovative in these toys? These toys can teach scholastic learning in a creative manner. Learning will be a fun. Children will not say that they do not want to study. They will really like this method of learning.  I really wish should have got such toys during my schools. I would have more enjoyed learning.
So learning is the aim and Mandi is the name.

That’s great! But when?
On 8th August 2015!!
